July 22nd - listen to the music

Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.

Victor Hugo

Music is not only able to affect your mood — listening to particularly happy or sad music can even change the way you perceive the world.  For example, people will recognize happy faces if they are feeling happy themselves.

Songs are such powerful things. They can reassure, soothe, inspire and educate us.  Songs have always held a mirror to the things going on around us and change society like no other art form.

Prior to having the availability of recording music, you had to have live near and be able to afford  visits the to the performances like the opera.  The advent of recording technology changed that.  The advent of television made pop music even more potent.  There was something about seeing the songs performed in the flesh.  Stars have now harnessed the power of video to tell their story.

Music is so powerful it is even possible to become addicted to music.  Some use music to help them  relax, Others use it to help them improve their performance while they work. Music can also give you a better workout when exercising.

Studies show that kids making music together show they just aren’t having fun but they absorbing a key component of emotional intelligence.  Music not only says a lot about you..  It provides a myriad of ways to make your life better.  It makes us feel good and end the end, that’s worth a lot.

Where words fail, music speaks.

Hans Christian Andersen

I wish I could enjoy music again, but that will never happen with Cochlear implants. All sounds are basically the same and mechanical, but at least the spoken word can be understood. LOL But I can remember enjoying some music.
Sherry and jack (Sherry still enjoys music, except my singing. LOL)
