Chapter 5, Page 28, Book 21

To fix yourself, think for yourself

Author Unknown

May 28th - there are no quick fixes

Think for yourself, or others will think for you without thinking of you.

Henry David Thoreau

In this information age it’s easy to let others do our thinking for us.  Everyone has an opinion, but just because somone says it, doesn’t make it true.

I think we need to think for ourselves.  Educate ourselves as best we can and then form our own opinions. Your thoughts are not going to be my thoughts, so you should form your own and not by what I think.  If we happen to agree, then it should be because we are both thinking alike not because I told you so.

When we think for ourselves, we consider, plan, think out, assess, contemplate, evaluate, ponder and tale all things into consideration.  We need to know the facts so we can form our thoughts the right way.

We have to learn how to think for ourselves and it doesn’t come easily.

Don’t follow people because you agree with what they think…Think for yourself and enjoy the privelege of doing so.

Don’t let others tell you what you can do. Be an independent thinker and discover what you can do.

If everyone is thinking alike, then no one is thinking.

Benjamin Franklin

Don’t let others define your worth. You are special!

True, it doesn't come easy. But is anything worth having come easy?
For years I purchased the same detergent and voted for the same candidates as my parents. Mind you, I've not drifted very far. But it's freeing, all the same.

You drove a lot a nails in this one. Good advice and even if we can't always follow those solid ideas and standards, we do try.
Love from down here,
