Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast. a house into a home , stranger into a friend.
May 2nd - Thankful Sunday
Joy is the simplest form of gratitude.
It’s very hard to believe that it’s Sunday again and it’s also a new month. Time keeps flying by and we must do all we can to make the most of each moment.
I’m taking a pause and reflecting today on all the happy moments I had this week to be thankful for.
We had a lot of rain, but they say we need it here, so I’m thankful we got what we got and hopefully, that will bring us up to what is normal for us. Spring is the time for planting and our crops need rain to grow. We also had a frost warning and it got cold at night, so I’m hoping that won’t affect all the trees that are in blossom here. I’m thankful that nearby we have lots of fruit orchards where I can get fresh apples and peaches in the summer and fall.
The month of April brought with it several birthdays to celebrate and so will this month. Thanks to my wonderful family I have lots of days to celebrate.
May Day. yesterday, brought a celebration of Spring. I can hardly wait until I can plant some flowers. I have boxes ready on the porch to plant them in and brighten up our landscape. The community I live in is doing a contest here for the most beautiful landscaping. I hope I can make my place look beautiful too. I’m thankful for my home and a nice community to live in.
I’m thankful too that this week found all my family happy and healthy once again. And so am I. I’ve slowed down with age but still can do what’s needed and even though I need help sometimes, it’s always there when I need it.
I’m thankful that today is supposed to be mostly bright and sunny. We are to warm up close to 80 degrees. It will be very summer like and I enjoy being warmer after so many cold days. It really feels good.
I hope you all have had plenty to be thankful for this week too. Remember that although every day may not be a good one there is something good to find in each day when we take the time to look for it.
Have a wonderful and relaxing Sunday and be thankful for what you have.
No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks.
