The secret to happiness is flowing not forcing..

May 14th - go with the flow

Faith does not need to push the river because faith is able to trust there is a river. The river is flowing, We are in it.

Richard Rohr

When you try to try to force happiness, it eludes you.  If you don’t it tends to happen on its own.  The work you end up doing in your life is almost never Plan A, it’s plan B, which is what you started doing when it didn’t come naturally.  Whey you try not to think about something, it’s all you can seem to focus on.  The more you try to avoid something, the more you see it everywhere.

Flow is that peak performance state when you lose track of time and become fully immersed in your task.  This is often we we produce the best work of our lives, and those who can do it every day often often for themselves find incredible long term success.  But its almost impossible to achieve a flow state doing something you have to force yourself to do.

The work is in learning how to show up, get out of your own head, and allow it to happen without your doubts and anxieties stopping you.  If something doesn't happen it wasn't meant to be.If it's mean to be it will happen.

If you just go with the flow, not matter what weird things happen along the way, you will always end up where you belong.

Tom Upton

Forcing things only causes havoc and destress.  Wanting something puts you in the energy of not having it. Being overly attached to an outcome makes you obsessed with perfection and your own timing.  We miss the fact  success is not something the world gives us; it’s something we offer the world and then reap the benefits of doing so.

We don’t have to force anything for it to happen, we just have to respond to it by showing u p to it, and then learning to loosen our grip and allow it to be.

We need to accept that change is constant and let go of control.  When we slow down, relax and simply observe our lives, We can also sense  how things make us feel.

We also need to have faith in our instincts, that when it’s time to reach out for an opportunity. Our journey is as individual as we are and whatever comes next is meant to be.

It doesn’t matter where you are coming from,
All that matters is where you are going.

Brian Tracy

We cannot force things to happen. They will happen when they are supposed to be.

Great analogy! I'm reminded of that Garth Brooks song, The River.

I've discovered the more I try and force an outcome the way I think it should be, it's like I'm wearing blinders. I'm blinded to other opportunities.

PS - BTW, I just sent you an e-mail about the salad thingie.

So true! My word for this year (unofficially) is patience. I spent some time this month trying to force things to happen, and realized that's not going to happen. Have a great weekend!
