Chapter 4, Page 24, Book 21

Learn to enjoy every minute of your life.  Be happy now.  Dont wait for something outside yourself to make you happy in the future .  Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether its at work or with your family.  Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.

Earl Nightingale

April 24th - savor the moments

Use your precious moments to live life fully every single second of every single day.

Marcia Wieder

We remember the past and dream about the future, but the only time we experience life is right now.  Savoring this moment is of top importance. since this moment will never happen again.

Savoring is related to pleasure, but savoring is more about becoming aware of the experience of pleasure and appreciating the positive emotions derived from the experience.  To savor an experience, one must apply a certain degree of mindfulness and awareness.

Positive emotions can expand peoples thought sand behaviors, promoting creativity and social connections, and resilience.

When we take the time to slow down and enjoy each moment, we amplify our positive feelings.  And when you feel good you want to share that feeling with others.Savoring is the glue that bonds people together and is essential to long time  relationships.  People who savor together, stay together.

Comparing good experiences with unpleasant ones give us a reference point and makes our current situation seem better.

Savoring encourages gratitude and causes us to say thank you to affirm our positive feelings. Recalling the experience through thanks will help you to savor it.

People who savor the positive sides to every situation are happier at the end of the day.  Remind yourself of how quickly time flies, the moments pass quickly and tell yourself to relish the moment. Enjoy them while they are happening.

When we concentrate our attention on the present, we focus on the task at hand and give our full attention to what we are doing and let go of the outcomes.

Savor the moments and enjoy your life! We owe it to ourselves to make every moment count!

We never remember days, only moments.

Ahhh today. Yes today I found that GEM, when you wrote:
Comparing good experiences with unpleasant ones give us a reference point and makes our current situation seem better.............

That is such a simple but deep statement you made. IF we keep that in mind we will know for sure how blessed we are.
Thanks, from a rainy day in NC, time to work in the basement.

I love that word, savor. And what you've written, " ..... about becoming aware of the experience of pleasure and appreciating the positive emotions derived from the experience." It's like, a celebration of our senses.
Carpe the right now! 😃
