We have to learn never to expect anything,
and when it comes it’s no more than a gift on loan.
April 2nd - no expectations
When one’s expectations are reduced to zero, one really appreciates everything one does have.
Truly everything’s on loan, for one day we shall die, and we will take nothing with us but the lessons that we’ve learned while we’ve been here. Hopefully this lessons won’t be about how to attain financial or material wealth, but about how to love and give and live life fully.
Hopefully we have learned not to hoard money, but to share it.
Hopefully we won’t have learned tp expect people to do or say what we want them to, but to expect them to be themselves and express themselves as they will, no matter what we expect of them.
When we expect life to give us something like a new relationship, a new job, a return on an investment— we set up ourselves for disappointment when it turns out life sees there is something better for us. We may loose all our money, but the lessons we learn will help up later on when we need it.
There is no reason to get upset over things we can’t control. We can only be responsible for our own thoughts and actions . We are the ones in control of our attitude.
Accept yourself, accept others and accept that life is better with no expectations.
Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed.
