Chapter 3, Page 9, Book 21

A good laugh is sunshine in the house.

William Makepeace Thackeray

March 9th - laughter is the best medicine

A good laugh heals a lot of hurts.

Madelaine L’Engle

Not only is it fun to share a good laugh, but it actually can improve your health.  It draws people together that triggers healthy physical and emotional changes in the body.  Laughter boosts your immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain and protects you from the damaging effects of stress.  Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hope, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused and alert.  It also helps us to release anger and forgive sooner.

Laughter is a tremendous resource for surmounting problems, enhancing relationships, and supporting both physical and emotional health.  Best of oll this priceless medicine is fun, free and easy to use.

Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect against heart attacks and other cardiovascular problems.

Looking at the funny side can put problems into perspective and enable us to move on from confrontations without holding onto bitterness or resentment.

Laughter is contagious .  The more you laugh the happier you and those around you will feel. When we laugh with one another, a positive bond is created.

Laughter is an instant vacation.

Milton Berle

Smling is the beginning of laugher and like laughter it is contagious.  When you look at someone or see something pleasing, practice smiling.

It’s good to develop your sense of humor and not take yourself too seriously and laugh at your own mistakes .  So choose to laugh whenever you can.

Think of it like exercise or breakfast and find something each day that makes you laugh. Set aside 10 to 15 minutes to do something that amuses you.  The more you get used to laughing each day, the less effort you’ll have to make.

Laughter takes you to a higher place where you can view the world from a more relaxed, positive and joyful prospect.

So smile when you can and laugh a lot!

A day without laughter is a day wasted.

Charlie Chaplin

True, all of that. We just lost (from the park headed home) a dear friend who is in 'terrible health', was eating those 'nitro' pills like candy, but had the BEST outlook and could make you laugh in a heart beat. We wished them well on the trip and know it is best he head back toward his regular doctor, but we will miss his humor. You are so right it is contagious.
Love you lady, sending the best your way,

I love to laugh, even when it's directed at myself. (Which happens more often than not these days.) Too, my own goofs might serve as comic relief for someone who desperately needs to laugh.

Smiling is one of my all time favorite things. I realized it -- kind of took it for granted -- when I had a number of major dental issues about twenty years ago. It took time and money to fix it, but I realized I loved to smile and to chew, and the effort to save both was well worth it.
