You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.

Abraham Lincoln

March 31st - live today

Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today.

Benjamin Franklin

We should do today’s work today. Pushing it into the future accomplishes nothing other than to increase the toil.

If we address today’s problems today they won’t grow more complicated as time goes on. If we postpone today’s joys until later, they will go away and never come back.  That is why we need to live life in the now if we want to achieve, be happy and connect with others.

What ever dreams we are following they have their roots in today, and it’s essential we take the next step today.  Today is an opportunity that will never come again.

Go for it now. The future is promised to no one.

No regrets in life.  Just lessons learned.

Jennifer Aniston

March 31st - regret is a waste of time

Don’t waste your time in anger, regrets, worries and grudges. Life is too short to be unhappy.

Roy T. Bennett

If we focus on regrets, it changes nothing and the act of going over what happened and wishing things were different doesnt change what happened.  So it’s a waste of time.

We need to focus on the lesson and our feeling of regret will lessen.  I am responsible for my life and not anybody else.  Instead of making excuses, I need to take responsibility.

We need to learn from the lessons and go on working toward our goals, not wasting time on regrets.  Learn from the lesson and move on .  If there is nothing you can do to change the situation, let it go.

Everybody makes mistakes, they can be opportunities to learn important lessons so that you can learn how to take better care of yourself in the future.

Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear.

Chapter 3, Page 29, Book 21

You are never too old and never too late.

Author Unknown

March 29th - There is always time.

Time is the coin of your life.  It is the only coin you have and only you can determine how it will be spent.  Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.

Carl Sandburg

I like to think we have time for what we want to do and if we don’t have time, we really don’t want to do it.

We make time to spend with people that we love and for what we love to do.

We are truly never too old or too late.  Its never too late to be what you might have been. Never too late to start over, never too late to be happy.

They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but I think we are never too old to change for the better.

I know for certain that we’re never too old to learn something new.  I learn something new every day of my life.  There is no end to what we can learn.

It’s never too late to pursue our dreams.  No matter what we all need dreams to look forward to.  It’s never too late, no matter how old you get, because any time or at any point you always have a choice in what you want to do.

One of the most common things we tell ourselves is that, it’s too late.  But truly we always have time to do what we want to do.

Dont let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it.  The time will pass anyway, we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.

Chapter 3, Page 28, Book 21

Our Lord has written the promise of ressurrecton, not in books alone, but in every leaf in spring time.

Martin Luther

March 28th - thankful Sunday

This is the day the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalm 118:24

This is my day to pause and reflect on what I’ve had to be thankful for this week.

We had our first family gathering since we were locked down one year ago.  With everyone getting their vaccine shots, our numbers are down and many in my family have at least one shot, some have had 2 now.  Hopefully soon everyone will be able to get theirs.  We were able to gather outside which is always safer since we had a beautiful day to be outside.

I’m thankful that Easter is almost here. Winter is gone and Spring has come.  The world is starting to turn green and everyone is filled with hope.

I’m thankful everyone in my family is healthy and safe and no more new cases of the virus have appeared.

I’m thankful for the love of family and all the wonderful hugs I was able to give and get.  And I’m thankful that I’m able to get out today and go to church for Palm Sunday.  It’s the beginning of Holy week for us with it being Palm Sunday and next weekend will be Easter Sunday!

I do hope you all made it safely through this week and have plenty to be thankful for too.

Chapter 3, Page 27, Book 21

Anyone who has never made a mistake ha never tried anything new.

Albert Eistein

March 27th - We learn from our mistakes

We learn from failure, not from success!

Brian Stoker

I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life because I rarely get anything right the fist time I try it.  I’m one who believes that everyday is a day to learn something new. I’m constantly trying out new things.  It often takes a lot of starts before something to work for me the way it’s supposed too.

None of us is perfect and we all have made mistakes, but we shouldn’t let them get us down.  Nothing worth having ever comes easily.  We have to practice a lot if we want to succeed.

It’s in o our nature as humans to fail.  Whether at work, your family life or relationships, you’re bound to disapoint yourself and others at some point.

But for you to make progress in you’re life, you must learn from your mistakes.  You must learn to understand why you made a mistake or experience failure, and take corrective actions.  That’s what successful people do.

We can learn to make better choices and do just that. The decisions you make will determine what kind of person you become later and affect your future.

Itimportant that we forgive ourselves for making mistakes.  We need to learn from our errors and move on.

Chapter 3, Page 26, Book 21

Change is inevitable.  Growth is intentional.

John Maxwell

March 26th - be intentional

The road to success is always under construction.

Arnold Palmer

Change is inevitable.  We don’t have to make a decision for change to happen .  It happens with our without our concent. Growth is what is optional, it only happens with our consent.and when we make the decision to grow.

We can’t stop change from happening but we and control what we do with the change.  We can be intentional in what we want to happen in our lives.

Life is always changing and it’s up to each one of us to take control and grow our dreams.

The way we view life determines our overall hqppiness. Every day is a new day where something new will happen and it’s up to us to decide what we will do.  My life has been full of changes as have most of us.  I changed from being a wife to being a widow.  I changed where I lived due to the death of a sister that I shared a house with.  We bought the house together, but we each had our own homes as it was a duplex. I’ve lost a few loved ones, and I’ve changed as I’ve grown older, but that hasn’t stopped me from growing.

I’m not what I used to be but hopefully better in every way.

The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but building on the new.

Chapter 3, Page 25, Book 21

You have three choices in life - give up, give in or give it all you got.

Zig Ziglar

March 25TH -life is filled with choices.

In truth, whatever is worth doing at all, is worth doing well;
and nothing can be done well without attention.

Phillip Dormer Stanhope

We are the only ones that can decide what choice to make. No one is responsible for what we do, but ourselves.  No one can make you do what you don’t want to do.

I choose to give it my all in anything I do.  If it’s worth doing then it’s worth doing well.

If you decide you are going to do something, then you have to do it all and to the best of your ability, which means paying attention to the details and knowing who to do it with.  Not ever thing can be done by ourselves so we need to pay attention to who we have along side us too.

When you pay attention we put our focus on the present moment, on what’s going on right then and there.  It’s the difference in whether or not you will do a good job.

Life is not a straight line.  It’s rarely a straight forward way and more like a road filled with bumps we need to overcome.

But if you are willing to learn and pay attention to the things around you, you will easily handle every obstacle on your way. There is no limit to how much we can learn every day.

You don’t just learn from books or professors, you learn from yourself and the things that happen to you.  You learn as much as you are willing to accept new experience and skills.

Sometimes we ignore the obvious and choose to be ignorant about the things that surround us. That is one of the worst things we can do to ourselves.

If we choose to learn, then we are already on the path to our ultimate goal in life, You can learn most anything if you pay attention .

Don’t make excuses.  Our goal should be set on learning a lesson with everything we do in life.  Once you get the lesson, the quality of life will become better and expand our capabilities.

Don’t fear failure.  It’s a vital part of life that helps us grow and become more resistant to life’s obstacles.  Failures can be wonderful teachers about life.

At the end of the day we all decide what we make of our life. I’m going to give it my all.

Whatever you do, do it well. Do it so well that when people see you do it, they will want to come back and see you do it again, and they will want to bring others to show them how well you do what you do.

Walt Disney

Chapter 3, Page 24, Book 21

Holding a grudge is letting someone live rent free in your head.

Ann Landers

March 24TH - Just let it go...

Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself.

Tony Robbins

Resentments can block any possibility for peace and happiness.A grudge can replay in your head and you will revisit the anger you originally felt. The more you think about it the deeper the resentment wedges into our mind and body.

Revisiting the anger evokes stress in our bodies, giving us racing hearts, spikes in blood pressure, shallow breathing and even muscular tension.

Holding grudges hurts us.  Grudges are like smoldering embers when you poke the fire and the flame brightens.

Remember you are in charge of what you think and do. Make a choice  not live in a victim mentality,Take responsibility for your emotional well being.  Focus all the energy on ways to heal the situation for your own health.

Forgiveness is a gift we give ourselves. Life is far to short to allow grudges to kill happiness.  Forgiveness will free your mind and release the stress from your body.

It’s not easy to forgive and forget, but it will do your body good.  Forgiveness is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength. It’s not about fair or not fair.  It has nothing to do with fairness. It’s something we do for ourselves to make us feel better.

Let Go!  How would your life be different if you learned to let go of things that have already let go of you?  From relationships long gone, to old grudges, to regrets, to all the could’ve and should’ve to the dead friendships you still hang on to.  Free yourself from the burden of a past you cannot change.

Dr. Steve Maraboli

Chapter 3, Page 23, Book 21

Success is the sum of small efforts - repeated day in and day out.

Robert  Collier

March 23rd - little things mean a lot.

All happiness is built upon small efforts.

Author Unknown

The daily grind is something we tend to get tired of but it truly is the best way to go.  We can all do small things with great love that grow into more success than we’d ever know.

Small things like, cleaning, washing, and cooking meals can make a big difference in our lives.  It's the small things that can make the biggest difference .

If we want to make a big difference in our life, we need to focus on the small things: the relationships, the people, the interactions, the handshakes, the smiles.  It’s the tinest of things that can make the biggest difference in someone’s life.

Master the small and then move on to the next step and do the same thing again.  Do it day in and day out.

Focus on the small things for your actions will lead to the big difference .  From there the changes you want to see will happen in your life.

It’s always good to see small kindnesses in the world. The more people help each other the better the world will be.

Success is dependant on effort.

Sophocles

Chapter 3, Page 22, Book 21

You have to have faith in yourself.  Be brave and take risks. You don’t  have to have it all figured out to move forward,

Roy T, Bennett

March 22nd. - Don’t wait for the perfect moment to start.

Aging gracefully means being flexible, being open, allowing change, enjoying change and loving yourself.

Wendy Whelan

It’s Monday and it’s Ok.  I haven’t got the perfect plan to move forward this week, but I’ve some ideas how things might go and that’s enough to get me started.  There is no perfect plan, because we all know the man makes plans, and God laughs. He might just have a different plan for my week than I do.  That doesn’t stop from making my lists of what needs to be done though, If I don’t have  a list, nothing will ever get done.

Moving forward is important if you want to make progress, but I can still be flexible and go with the flow.  You always have other options.  Y.A.H.O.O. is one of my favorite acronyms.  You  always have other options.  Nothing is set in cement.  We can change the way to go depending on what is needed.

If we don’t know where we are going, we’ll never get there, so it’s always good to have some kind of map to help keep you on track.  Truth is that I don’t think I’ll have everything all figured out.  Every time I think I have, something changes.  Things are not always the way we expect them to be.  Be we always have a choice to make as far as what we’d like to do.  I want to keep moving forward and keep on going for as long as I can.

We all had a lot of plans that changed when the corona virus hit us a year ago now, and we all adapted and made changes to the way we did things, not necessarily bad ones either.  We kept on going, doing what we had to do to remain safe.

We kept going and I’m not going to stop.

Stay committed to your decisions, but stay flexible in your approach.

Tony Robbins.

Chapter 3, Page 21, Book 21

The only way we can make the most of our lives is to make the most of our moments.

Cleo Wade

March 21st - Thankful Sunday

Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity: it must be produced and discharged and used up in order to exitt at all.

William Faulkner

Sometimes it’s tough to take a moment to express how thankful we are for all of life’s blessings.  All too often there are never enough minutes in the day for all our obligations, from family and friends to work and making dinner and laundry.  Add in additional stress, jobs, holidays, travel and the list of to do’s can become overwhelming.  But I’ve decided to make time on each Sunday to give thanks for the blessings I’ve had during each week.

It’s nice to take a few quiet minutes to reflect on the many things I have to be grateful for.

This week brought the first day of Spring and with that some wonderful sunshine and warmer days too.

Winter was harder than ever to endure being shut up and staying at home so much.  But with the Spring, I’m filled with hope for much brighter days ahead.

I’m thankful for the ability to get out and about with more freedom. Now that I’ve had the vaccine, and so have some of my friends and family, we can safely gather in one place and actually face to face, not behind a mask.

It’s so nice to see people smile again! Hopefully, more and more people will get their shots and soon we’ll be able to be somewhot normal again.

I’m thankful that more and more of my family are getting their vaccinations and right now no new cases of the virus have occurred. Everyone is healthy and safe.

I’m thankful the grass is starting to turn green and leaves are budding on the trees.  We need some color in our lives and green  is wonderful, reminding us of renewal and growth.

I hope you will take a few moments to reflect and give thanks, it makes you feel better no matter what else may be going on.  When you think about good things, you feel good too.

Keep your eyes open to your mercies.  The man who forgets to be thankful has fallen asleep in life.

Robert Louis Stevenson

Spring is nature's way of saying - let's party!

Robin Williams

March 20th -  Welcome Spring!

The first blooms of spring always make my heart sing !

E. Brown

Every year the cold of winter melts away and spring brings a new beginning.  New beginnings are never easy but with blossoms falling at your feet, you can’t help but be happy.  I feel like having a party and celebrating and will do just that as soon Easter Day will be here.

Unlike last year, we are planning a get together once again.  I can’t wait to see everyone and give some hugs.  I can safely do that now since I’ve had my vaccine shots and am now protected from the virus.  No doubt I’ll still have my mask on and wash my hands as I want those in my family to be protected too.

Spring is also a reminder to stop and smell the roses!  Take time to savor and enjoy these warmer days.  Soon it’ll get hot and right now the temps are almost perfect.

At least they will be when we get in the 70’s here. That is perfect temps to me.  Not too hot and not too cold.
Being outside is always safer anyway.  And we’ll have our family Easter egg hunt outside for the kids.  The adults get the fun of hiding them and then making sure they were all found when they finish up.

So I’m going to party and think of new beginnings which are sure to be happier times than last year was.  New beginnings always bring some endings too.  Good bye virus, we aren’t going to miss you at all.  Good riddance and don’t come back.  We’re are protected now and don’t want to see you around anymore!

Here comes the sun and I say, It’s all right !

The Beatles
