Chapter 1, Page 1, Book 21

Good words are worth much and cost little.

George Herbert

 January 1 - My word for 2021

Thrive

to prosper, be fortunate or successful
To grow or develop vigorously, flourish

Watch your thoughts, they become your words
Watch your words, they become your actions
Watch your actions, they become your habits
Watch your habits, they become your character
Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.

I survived 2020 so in 2021 I want to thrive

There is a difference between thriving and surviving.  Surviving means to continue to live or exist. while thrive can be defined to grow or develop all, to prosper and flourish.

Thriving happens when you have a life of purpose, vitality, connection and celebration.

Sometimes choosing to thrive feels more difficult than simply surviving. Developing resilience to turn crisis into opportunity will see through you in every area of life.

When life presents challenges, it’s important to remember we all have the power of choice.  The power of choice can take us beyond our wildest dreams but choice can go the opposite way too, The choice is always ours.

We can thrive even when things are hard and key lies in ongoing progress  and  growth Thriving is a constant journey growth, of expansion and adaptation that allows us to live with purpose, passion and well being, especially during the most difficult of times.

So I hope you all will join me on the journey of the new year.

The most valuable of all talents is never using two words when one will do.

Having survived 2020, I really like your optimistic take! For some(?) reason, I wasn't led to chose a word..... and didn't want to force anything. For now, I'll be content to live each day with intention and appreciation.

Excellent word Ma and explanation of thrive versus survive. I believe you will thrive wonderfully in this new year! I chose listen as my word. I need to do better to listening to others and especially listening to God :)

Happy New Year!
