Chapter 12, Page 10, Book 20

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

Winston Churchill

December 10th - face your fears

The man then, who faces fears the right things and with the right arm, and in the righty at the right time, and who feels confidence under the corresponding conditions, is brave.

Aristotle.

Not all of us have the courage to face our fears, we are not brave or confident enough  to do that. Everyone of us has experienced fear in life. It sometimes hits us for no reason, We begin to fear something even though it will likely not happen.

We can either make something happen, or we will spring away and do everything we can to avoid it.We can either rise to the occasion, or shrink away and give into our fears.  We’ll either triumph over fears or fear triumps over us.

Having a plan for fear will prepare us to face our fears.  It helps us to understand what we fear and how it can be conquered.  This helps when trying out new things.

It helps us fight off and hold our fears at bay. How it important then is it for us to face our fears and do something about them.  Move from Flight to fight.

When we refuse to let fear tell us what to do, we are no longer enslaved by it.  Then we can do the things we desire to do and chase our dreams.

We all have a choice to make, Will we stand up and look fear in the face, or while we take flight and run away from it.

We can grow in strength, courage and confidence if we find the courage to replace fear in life with chasing our dreams and living the life we desire.

When we face our fears chances we are venturing into unknown territory,.  We’re likely doing something we’ve never done .  This helps us to learn and changes our brain for the better

Despite having fear or facing doubts and uncertainty, we can accomplish our goals and dreams.  Give it a try and you’ll see. We all have more courage than we know, it’s using it that makes a difference.  All our dreams can come true.
All we need to do is believe it.

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.  You are able to say to yourself, I have lived through this horror, I can take the next thing that comes along.  You must do the thing you cannot do.

Eleanor Roosevelt

Fight or flight, yes. Each of us has choices. I've been accused of looking at 'worst-case' scenarios, but that's only to prepare a just-in-case fight plan.

Lately -- I don't know if you'd call it fear -- I've been experiencing undefined, free-floating anxiety. I'm going to blame it on too much network news and less prayer time.

There is good advice here. Some of it VERY tough for some to follow, but worth the effort to TRY.

It is good to face one's fears and to not run away from them but to try to conquer them!
