Chapter 10, Page 5, Book 20

Do it now. Sometimes later becomes never.

October 5th - don’t procrastinate

Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

Benjamin Franklin

I’m one that will put things off until tomorrow. Especially when it comes to housework, I figure it’s not going to go anyplace.  It will always be there.  But procrastination is not good when you get behind, then you feel pushed to get things done and  causes needless anxiety.  Better to do it when you can then you don’t feel like you’re  lagging behind.

Though tasks might not be enjoyable, the feeling of having them done is even more enjoyable.

There are few time in life when we are sure of everything we do.  Sometimes life takes a bit of faith to get started.  Waiting until the perfect time or place to do something might mean you wait for a long time. Wouldn’t it be nice to get things done now?

The circumstance may never be exactly as you want them to be.  While you wait for the perfect place, there will be opportunities and parts of life that you miss out on.  The easiest way to do something is simply get started.  There are things we can do everyday to create a better life for ourselves.

There comes a time when we must stop speaking about what we want to do and get up to start doing it.  There is time for talk and ideas and there is a time for action.

We don’t always see the entire picture when we begin something new.  The good thing is that we don’t have to we simply need to know the first step or two will be revealed in time.  Words without action are nearly meaningless.  Sometimes success is only just a few hours away and requires just a little more hard work.  You can’t fail if you keep going.

Today is the only day that we’ll ever have.  Yesterday is useful in the things you might have learned, but it has no power over today.  Tomorrow comes with the fact that anything can happen and there are no guarantees.  The only guarantee we have is this one moment.  We need to make it count.

The best time to get something done is right now.  We need to make our life a priority.Set a goal to finish a task or two that has been left undone and you’ll get better at it. It’s the encouragement  we need to keep going.

Sometimes just getting to work brings the inspiration we’re looking for in the first place. The trick is to make the decision to get started.

The only difference between success and failure ins the ability to take action.

Alexander Graham Bell

I'm the Mistress of Procrastination, particularly when it comes to cleaning house. Over here like, "No-one comes over" or, "It will only get dirty all over again."
But ya, it's hard to beat the feeling of accomplishment that comes after a job well done.

Very good points you bring up. I tried to finish a days work with the work area cleaned and ready for the next day. It seemed such a waste to come in and see an hours work down the drain stepping over stuff, etc.

Anyway, I am guilty of some procrastination now days, but I am trying to fix that. LOL

Love from down here were things are getting better, methinks.

I don't procrastinate too much. Just like to get it done than think about having to do it :)
