Chapter 5, Page 16, Book

The greatest gift that you can give to others is the gift of unconditional love and acceptance.

Brian Tracy

May 16 - Love should not be conditional

Love is, above all, the gift of oneself.

Jean Anouilh

During times of turbulence and fear, the greatest gift you an offer to yourself and others is the gift of love.  Love conquers fear.  Love opens hearts.  Love heals the wounded.  If each of us offered love to everyone we encounter, we could create a more peaceful existence in our world.

It all begins with you. It’s hard to learn to love other people until you’ve learned to love yourself.  Love yourself doesn’t mean that you have a huge ego and walk around with a big head, thinking you are greatest thing since sliced bread.

Loving yourself means you offer yourself compassion, forgiveness, and kindness.  It means you quiet the inner critic who constantly demeans and belittles you.  It means you acknowledge your mistakes and allow yourself  to move forward.

Loving yourself allows you to be human and make mistakes while still doing the best you can to be a good, kind and loving person.  Loving is letting go.  The past is over.  You cannot fix it or remove it.  The only moment you have in which ot offer love is this moment right now.

Forgive the past and let it go.  Offer love to every person who crosses your path.  Love is always the correct answer and the best gift you can give.

How you love yourself is how you teach others to love you.

Jesus made it so simple when he said love your neighbor as you love yourself. Living that is hard to do though, but unconditional love is the best kind of love indeed.

I think you've perfectly described my dog. (*smile*) What lessons we humans can learn about living in the moment and letting go. Yes, what the world needs now is love, sweet love.
