Chapter 1, Page 3, Book 20

My 17 Days Of  Christmas

Day 8 - January 2nd

All my children began the trip home and at least 3 of them made it safely in  and 2 more are still in route.  It was a quiet day without them.  We relaxed here but our Sunshine boy had to go to work.  He is a barista at Starbucks and was able to add to my collection of cups that I began called the Been There Series.  I try to get one as a souvenier of the trips I’ve taken.  It’ is always nice to look at them and remember the happy times of where I’ve been.

We finally had our pork and sauerkraut dinner for good luck in the New Yer last evening.  It was so nice to be able to sit around the table for dinner and not to be eating by myself.  Every one has been so kind and I’m spoiled not having to anything much at all.

Our Princess is in the yellow shirt and enjoying dinner with her family before they left for home.

Our Princess will be leaving on her long trip today and it’ll be a few weeks before she’ll be back home again, but it’s an opportunity of a life time for her to go to New Zealand and I’m sure she’d not want to miss out on it.

DS#6 and family took the opportunity on their way home to stop and spend the day at Lego Land and sent a picture. Really every one has been very good about checking in as they travel. Most opted to go straight through to home with no stops along the way.  They’ll have work and school to get back to.

This week will probably be much quieter for me and It’ll be nice to just relax and soak up some sun.  My favorite lounge chair is calling my name.  It's shown top left in the first picture of today's post. I need all the sunshine I can soak up because it’ll be a long winter with little sun when I return home.

I'm so thankful for this trip south for Christmas and into the New Year. 2020 is off to a great start!

We are enjoying your vacation. How sweet the sound. It has been fun being with you via the blog and even that you were able to continue the daily entries. Love it. I just know your 'Princess' will enjoy the trip to New Zealand. I would love that trip also, never been that direction. The best to her in learning and safety.

Glad ALL going well OVER ALL, with such a big crowd to arrange for. That was amazing.

I am so happy for you and your family and your wonderful Christmas. Hey why New Zealand - does she live there?

Oh, how quiet it must seem!
What a treat for your grands, getting to experience Leg-O-Land. Love your 'Been-There' cup series! I used to do the same thing! Isn't it nice when an inanimate object can trigger a memory?
