Chapter 1, Page 11, Book 20

Day 17 - January 11th

The weather went south yesterday.  Just about the time I got my book and water bottle and settled in the lounge chair to soak up some sun, it started raining.  Thankfully there is a sheltered part of the lanai where you can sit with out getting wet.

My son and his family took me to the beach in the evening  where we hoped for one last Florida sunset for me and got clouds instead.  We went to Bonita Beach which is a shell beach not all sand like the first one we went to.  They collected quite a few of shells for me to take home with me.  Good memories.  Then we went to Chick Filet for sandwiches for dinner.  That was a treat for me as we don’t have one nearby at home and I rarely ever get one of their sandwiches.

I’m all packed and the suitcase managed to close and I’ll be leaving here in a couple of hours for the airport.  Sadly my Family vacation has come to an end.  But on the Bright side I am so glad that  I got to come .

It’s another cloudy start to the day here. We'll have to make our own sunshine!

I remember Bonita Beach! :)
Gotta say, I appreciate you 'taking us along' these last 17 days. Crazy, but now I've a lump in my throat. Bon voyage!

Some years back we were vacationing in Panama City Florida we took a small boat ride to shell island I will have to say the sand and beaches there were the prettiest I've seen. You maybe home by now I know you had a wonderful visit with your family but maybe a little glad to be home. (Smile)

I lived close to Bonita Beach at one point with a roommate...but ended up at Ft.Myer's Beach for a longer term. Love FL. I bet you flew out of the Ft.Myer's airport. When I lived there it was a little airport serviced by one airline. lol xo Diana

Seems like a fitting end to your wonderful vacation, Ma! I'm sorry the weather did turn south, but maybe the rain was "crying" because you were returning home. I'm sure you'll enjoy looking at those shells again and again and remembering the great time you had on this vacation! I hope you are home by now, all safely tucked in your own bed, dreaming of your Florida adventure!
