Chapter 12, Page 17, Book 19

What is Christmas by Meister Eckhart

What good is it that Christ was born over 2000 years ago if he is not born now in your heart?
I believe in God, but do I believe in God in me?
I believe in God in heaven, but do I believe in God on earth?
I believe God out there but do I believe in God with us?

December 17th -  I believe

believe this Christmas

Author Unknown

believe that Christmas is more than just a time for parties and decorations; it is a time for remembering Christ and the difference his birth has made in our world and in our lives.
believe there are gifts more important than the ones under the Christmas tree, the things we teach our children, the way we share with friends and the industry with which we set about reshaping the world in our time.
believe that finest carols are often sung by the poorest voice, from hearts made warm by the wonder of the season.
I believe in the angels message that we should not be afraid- that the Child of Bethlehem is able to overcome all anxieties and insecurities.
I believe in prayers and quietness as also a way of celebrating Christmas. This means that if I want silence I will experience the presence of the one born in the manger, for he lives today as surly as he lived then.
I believe in going away from Christmas as the wisemen went, another way.  I want to be different when these days are past- more centered,  more thoughtful and more caring.  And I believe
God will help me.

The words above are food for thought as we approach Christmas.  They were in my daily devotions yesterday and I thought you might enjoy reading them too.

Beliefs are choices.  First you choose your beliefs.  Then your beliefs affect your choices.

Yes … thank you for sharing this, Ma!
In particular, this line touched me: "I believe in prayers and quietness as also a way of celebrating Christmas."

I believe that your "I BELIEVE" list should be read by everyone. I also believe that everyone should BELIEVE!
What a wonderful entry. I believe it is GOOD!

I like the part about going away from Christmas like the wise men did by a different route. Good thought on how to approach the day after Christmas this year and in years to come!

I am glad you shared this.I think the line that stuck out most to me was at the beginning.
I believe in God, but do I believe in God in me? - that was so profound!
