The idea of waiting for something makes it more exciting.
December 10th - are we there yet?
I live in the present, I only remember the past, and anticipate the future.
Henry David Thoreau
No we are not there, but almost half way! The days before Christms seem filled with endless waiting. The grandchildren here at my house are full of anticipation.
Our church provided a pancake breakfast with Santa this past Sunday. I almost passed on it and then remembered that the kids needed to do this. It was almost lunch time by then and every one was hungry, including me. So I dug in my purse and found some money to make a donation and was very glad that I did. The only cost of breakfast was a donation.
They also had a Santa shop where they could go shopping and I’m pretty sure one of them got something for me. Because they kept reminding each other not to mention the gift which was not named. I keep reminding myself to take advantage of all the days leading up to Christmas. They won’t come again.
The anticipation of all I still have to do, only makes the days go by faster. I need to just slow down and savor it all.
Anticipation for me, is half the fun of any holiday!
We usually get what we anticipate!
