Chapter 11, Page 3, Book 19

Food for the body is not enough.  There must be food for the soul.

Dorothy Day

November 3rd - thankful for encouragement

You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call failure is not the falling down, but the staying down.

Mary Pickford

Words of encouragement are food for the soul.  What we say can encourage, edify and give confidence to the hearer.  A right word spoken at the right time can actually be life changing.

We can literally increase our own joy by speaking right words.  We can also upset ourselves by taking about our problems or things that have hurt us.

Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.

The words that come out of our mouths go into our own ears as well as others. Then they drop down into our souls where they either gives us joy or sadness, peace or upset.  depending on the types of words spoken.   When we understand the power of words and realize that we can choose what we think and speak, our lives can be transformed.  If we want to be healthy in our soul and spirit we should choose to take in words that will build us up and increase our peace and joy.

Every little obstacle - every fall you have - is an opportunity.

Wayne Dyer

As always, your words hit home. It is (MOSTLY) the way I start my day. My Girl noticed 'WE' did not comment yesterday, I must have gotten distracted after reading it. I am playing nurse and Doctor for a couple days. LOL
Life is good and yes we all need encouragement and also need to give it. You do a good job of ENCOURAGING!

EXACTLY! My pastor in Florida always used to talk about the Universe hearing everything you say -- both to yourself and to others -- and providing just that.
That Mary Pickford quote is particularly meaningful to me!

I hadn't thought of that what I say I'm also hearing. That is a powerful thought I need to think some more about!
