Chapter 4, Page 18, Book 19

We gain strength, and courage and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face…and we must do that which we think we cannot.

Eleanor Roosevelt

April 18th- facing our fears

Fear and love can never be experienced at the same time.  It is always our choice as to which of these emotions we want.

Gerald Jampolsky

Facing our fears is the best way to conquer them.  Anxiety can stop you in your tracks and hold you back.  It’s not always easy to face our fears and push through them, but it is essential.

Fear is everywhere and yet it can be overcome and controlled.  When we see fear as not the end destination but a part of being human we can see through it and move forward.

If we don’t face our fears they’ll end up controlling us.  Fearful thoughts attract more fear. So it is important to keep our thoughts positive and expect the best.  Focus your attention on being ready, willing, and prepared for the beauty, wonder, and favorable circumstance that can be ours if we are willing to work at it.

We all have it within our power to do what it takes to overcome any obstacles that stand in the way of happiness.

Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, and not absence of fear.

Mark Twain

I like that "There is something positive in every day, and that some times we must look a little harder!"
You seem to always hit the nail on the head! Nice visit. THANKS

That is so true that if we don't face our fears they can end up controlling us. I know I fear flying on planes and that has stopped me from going a lot of places where it was easier to fly to. Need to be a bit more courageous and less fearful on some things indeed!

I sure 'get' what Betty just said! A couple of years ago I would never have entertained the thought of living in tornado alley … but here I am, happy as a clam. Except times like today, when we're facing another potential rough night. Nothing to do but prepare the safe room and expect the best. Right?

This is from Chatty, but it won't say it. lol My computer is still down - I am getting a new one on Monday and it will be with a learning curve, but I am still here. I do believe it is better to face your fears rather than letting them fester inside yourself. sandie
