Chapter 2, Page 11, Book 19

Nine Requisites for Contented Living:

Health enough to make work a pleasure.
Wealth enough to support your needs.
Strength to battle with with difficulties and overcome them.
Grace enough to confess your sins and forsake them.
Patience enough to toil until some good is until some good is accomplished.
Charity enough to see some good in your neighbor
Love enough to move you to be useful and helpful to others.
Faith enough to make real the things of God.
Hope enough to remove all anxious fears concerning the future.

Johan Wolgang van Goethe

February 11th - All by myself...

The one thing we can never get enough of is love. The the one thing we never give enough is love.

Henry Miller

We all want to be loved but there are a lot of lonely people in this world that never feel loved. It seems it’s far easier to pinpoint what we’re not getting than about what we’re not giving.  To be loved, you have to love.

We need to give the type of love we want to receive.  Give praise. Notice the little things.  Offer help without it being asked for. To have that loving feeling, we need to do loving things.  We need to let people that we love know that we care about them and appreciate them every chance we get.

Being alone is not the same as being lonely.  I may live alone, but am never lonely, I have plenty of people that I care about and plenty that care about me. I feel loved.

To be told we are loved is not enough.  We must feel loved.

Marcia Jacober

There is a difference between solitude and loneliness. We are really never alone.

I may live alone, but am never lonely,................... That is Golden! I always liked to hear the encouragement of 'Keep the Faith!' when things looked a little down.

Poignant! I'm reminded of the Beatles' Eleanor Rigby …. "where do they all come from?"
Some of my loneliest moments occurred while surrounded by others. But like you, I've been blessed to realize solitude and loneliness are very different emotions!
Off to the lab … hugs!

So true to be loved, we need to love and try to love unconditionally, especially our spouses and children. I spend a lot of time alone, but like you, I'm not lonely Ma. It is always good to know that we are loved by so many :)

You are right - you can be in a room of 100 and be lonely and by yourself and be fulfilled....

lonliness is a sad state to find yourself in. "Hope enough to remove all anxious fears concerning the future."
