Chapter 1, Page 28, Book 19

A little nonsense now and then, is cherished by the wisest men.

Ronald Dahl

January 28th - who is wise?

Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers.

Alfred Tennyson

Wisdom is the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement.Wisdom is associated with attributes such as unbiased judgment, compassion and virtues such as ethics and benevolence.

Wisdom is not simply knowing what to do, but doing it.  Although intelligence helps, we can be intelligent without being wise.  Wise people can judge what is true or right.

Anyone who is interested in trying new things and reflects on the process has the ability to gain wisdom. By putting our knowledge to the test, we can become wiser. Wisdom comes when you’re willing to make mistakes and learn from them.

Wisdom is not something to be taught, but it is learned over time. I don’t think I’ll ever live long enough to be considered a wise person.  I’m still learning something new every day. There are still many lessons to be learned.

We do not receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves,  after a journey through the wilderness which no one can take for us or spare us.

Marcel Proust

Great point about not confusing intelligence with being wise!
Reading your first paragraph, I was feeling terribly 'dumb' -- then reassured by the phrase ".... learned over time." The road is long.

Wasn't it Rick who coined the phrase, every day's a school day. I love that!

And the nice thing about wisdom is we can ask God for it and he'll give it to us :)
