We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.
January 11th - habits
It’s not what you do once in a while, it’s what you do day in and day out that makes a difference.
Habits are behaviors that we do unconsciously and to break bad ones we have to become conscious and aware that we are doing them and choose to replace them with good habits.
Sadly not all people are even aware that they have bad habits. I’ve known a few that have the bad habit of always complaining and don’t even realize they are doing it.
It’s just like magic. When you live by yourself, all your annoying habits are gone.
Anything worth having is life is going to take some concentrated effort. With the good Lord’s help, a determined attitude and an awareness that a bad habit needs to be broken, we can break bad habits and replace them with good ones. It takes dedication, discipline and a deep desire to change.
Motivation gets you going and habit gets you there. Make motivation a habit and you get there more quickly and have more fun on the trip.
I’m definitely not perfect and do have some bad habits, but am thankful for the good habits that I have and do without really thinking about them. I get up every morning giving thanks for another day. Every morning I take time to read the scriptures and say a prayer for my loved ones.
Every day, I look for the good in life. I take time to look for the things that make me appreciate my life and what I have and count my blessings. There is always something to be thankful for.
Every day I keep in touch with my family and friends in an effort to let them know just how much the mean to me. Every day I say I love you to those that matter most in my life.
Choose the life that is most useful, and habit will make it the most agreeable.
A new year is the perfect time to break bad habits and to make good ones that will improve your life. Everything we do in life is the result of our habits. the good ones bring peace and power in our lives, while the bad ones steal our joy and prevent success.
Things start as hopes and end up as habits.
Good habits make life easier. When we don’t have to spend time figuring out what we want to do and just automatically do them out of habit, we save a lot of time. How we operate daily reflects the habits we have. The more good habits we have, the better our life will be.
We first make our habits, and then our habits make us.
