Chapter 1, Page 10, Book 19

Authentic values are those by which a life can be lived, which can form a people that produces great deeds and thoughts.

Allan Bloom

January 10th- values worth keeping

Your attitude is an expression of your values, beliefs and expectations.

Brian Tracey

When our actions and words are aligned with our values, life is generally good and we feel content, confident, and satisfied.  A misalignment between the two could make you completely miserable.

Let your values drive your decisions. If you don’t know where you’re headed or what you stand for, it is easy to get off course.

Integrity is choosing your thoughts and actions based on values rather than personal gain.

Chris Karcher

Values are what you believe matters most in life.  You can’t expect to know what you want out of life if you don’t know what is important to you.

Values are guiding principles for behavior and help us make decisions.   Personal values can serve as reminders of what you cherish while in tricky situations.  They help you to stay true to yourself as you move through life.  If you don’t have values to stand up for then you have nothing.

Living your truth, based on your core values will lead to a happier and more fulfilling life.  A life that reflects what you consider to be important.

There are so many men who can figure costs, and so few who can measure values.

Very often as I read your entries I am touched by the quotes of the 'sages' you use. Actually more often it is your words of wisdom, words of 'the good mother' that reach my deep person, I might do this too often, but here it is again, this is my gem mined from this entry, it spoke tons to me where YOU said:
If you don’t know where you’re headed or what you stand for, it is easy to get off course................

Your words, and basically they are scripture!

I think too we need to reevaluate our values from time to time, especially when one is young. I know what I valued then is certainly not what I value now. My life would be so totally different if I didn't stop and say "nope, I don't like that about me" and then change that particular value. It is good to instill values early on into children's lives.

Betty's take on shifting values is spot-on, isn't it?
Sometimes my mind goes off on weird tangents, but your phrase, "A misalignment between the two could make you completely miserable" reminded me of the wonky way in which my car drove before my tires were aligned. An automobile, a body, our minds. Each work well when in symmetry.

You know this is biblical too? We were studying it in bible study today - can you believe it? Psalms 31 - David choose God after all his failures.
