Chapter 12, Page 6, Book 18

¸¸.•*¨*• Joy to the world, the Lord has come!  Let earth receiver her King!  Let every heart prepare Him room, And Heaven and nature sing!   ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪

Day 6 - there are too few voices of hope and too much hatred.

O tidings of comfort and joy

Just as the angels proclaimed glad tidings to the shepherds, we can give give tidings of comfort and joy to others.  We can be a rainbow in someone’s cloud by sharing a little hope with others.

It can be depressing when we think about global warming, terrorism, war, economic uncertainty, sickness, old age, death.  On the bright side there are signs of hope in our world.  There are millions of people who do their part to make the world a better place, with a smile, a kind word, with a helping hand.

We can let the light of hope shine in our lives. Be kind to one another.  Build up one another.  Encourage one another.  Agree rather than disagree.  Be humble.  Listen rather than judge.  Love one another.

Advent puts the spotlight on light and good news.  Where there is light there is hope and meaning in our lives.

When there is silence,
Give your voice.
When there is darkness,
Shine your light.
When there is desperation,
Offer hope.

The challenge is to keep good news alive and believe that it does make a difference.

Such small acts of kindness really do make a difference! I love that olden image of the three carolers. When our pest-control man stopped by yesterday he smiled and commented on an old print (ca. 50's) … and said it reminded him of a nicer time. Let's not forget to remember!

And you said it well. I see more smiling faces than frowns. I love this season....
And to you...... good stuff, that said with a smile!..

I saw several people out there this morning trying to make the world a better place. Saw two men helping to push a car that was stuck in the intersection in the pouring rain. Made me grateful that there are still lots of people out there willing to help others. That truly is something to be hopeful for.
