Day 16 - Advent Week Three:  it’s a time for JOY

May joy be yours today,
And radiantly amid
Within your heart until
Another Christmastide.

Gall Brook Burket

Joy is the true gift of Christmas, not the expensive gifts that call for time and money.  We can give joy simply with a smile, a kind gesture, a little help, and forgiveness.  And the joy we give we give will certainly come back to us.

Don’t watch the clock; do what it does.  Keep going.

Sam Levenson

To be truly joyful, we must be gentle with everyone we encounter, listening to a friend who is having a hard time, taking a moment to smile and laugh with someone to bring joy into their day.

Focus on being more present to those around you.  It is in this striving to care for others and bringing them joy that we too will find our true happiness.

The joy of brightening others lives, bearing others’ burdens, easing other’s load and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of Christmas

W. C. Jones

We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day.

I wish for one year we could stop the presents and just give people things like joy - love - etc. Do you think that would fly?

finding joy is a real blessing. "To be truly joyful, we must be gentle with everyone we encounter, listening to a friend who is having a hard time, taking a moment to smile and laugh with someone to bring joy into their day."

Today, in particular, I'm really taken with these slides. #2 has that gorgeous plaid ornament, of course; but its message made me realize MY heart is focused on … FOOD. LOL!
Realizing I need to quit talking about exercise and actually start doing, Mr. Levenson's advice hit home!

So true that we must be gentle with everyone we encounter if we want to be joyful. I do think I need to find my joy in my life.
