Chapter 7, Page 7, Book 18

Our character is basically a composite of our habits.  Because they are consistent, often unconscious patterns, they constantly, daily, express our character.

Steven R. Covey

daily rituals can develop in to good habits over time

A habit is something you can do without thinking, which is why most of us have so many of them.

Frank A. Clark

Routines are our daily habits and I confess to being a creature of habit and my daily routine rarely varies.  I start and end each day in much the same way.  Being thankful!

When you develop good daily routines, it takes a lot of guesswork out of life.  You pretty much do things without thinking a lot about them.  And when you have done them for many years as I have they become habits.

They say that a good night routine helps us start the day better and when you end the day with counting your blessings, you do wake up in a positive state of mind.

For me nourishing the soul is every bit as important as nourishing your body, maybe more.  A daily dose of scripture reading is good for your soul, and a daily dose of thankfulness can only increase our happiness.

Gratitude changes every thing and makes you appreciate every small and miraculous part of life.  Gratitude improves our health, relationships, emotions, and personality.  I can’t think of any better habit to have.

We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence then, is not a single act, but a habit.

They say it takes 28 times of doing something right to change one bad habit.

Smiling at Mr. Clark's quote … and trying to digest that of Mr. Covey.
Man, you find the best breakfast 'food' for my brain … I should start a new Pinterest board for these and call it "The Best of Ma!"

gratitude changes our outlook on everything. "We are what we repeatedly do."

I have a friend who is struggling now. I’m doing what I can to help, but it occurred to me that he is where he is because of his habits and choices.
