Good things happen when you get your priorities straight.
We won’t always be a priority to others. Be a priority to yourself
The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.
I have always believed that you cannot be good for others if you aren’t first good to yourself. That means that in order to be at my full potential, I have to take good care of my self by getting enough sleep, eating the right things and keeping healthy. If we get tired out, we get sick and then we’re no help to any one much less ourselves.
You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.
When we have others to care for we tend to neglect ourself, but sooner or later we get run down or burnt out with no energy left for ourselves or for others.
The best way to take care of others is to take care of yourself. We need healthy bodies and clear minds. As a mom of a large family I quickly learned that motherhood has 24 hour a day, seven days a week responsibility. There are no designated days off or vacation time.
We just cannot do it all if we don’t take care of ourselves.
As we grow older, you will discover we that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
