Chapter 5, Page 8, Book 18

God give me the serenity to accept things which cannot be changed; Give me the courage to change things with must be changed; And the wisdom to distinguish  one from the other.

Reinhold Niebuhr

Inner Wisdom

The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet.

James Oppenheim

It has been said that wisdom comes from learning; learning comes from experience; experience comes from mistakes.

Anyone who is interest in trying new things and reflecting on the process has the ability to gain wisdom.  By putting your knowledge to the test you can become a wiser person.

You get wiser when you give yourself the opportunity to learn, make mistakes and benefit by the lessons learned.   And we should never stop learning.  What was true yesterday, may not be what’s always true for tomorrow.

It’s easy to forget that we’re all grown and getting wiser, moment by moment, just by living.

The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Boy, your opening paragraph had me chuckling ruefully and nodding my head!
The trick is benefitting from the mistakes. Otherwise, doesn't that just make them a choice?

Have a good evening ... sweet dreams! :)

You seem to be in tune. I love it. You opened with a prayer of serenity. My most favorite words to fall back on as a prayer. I cannot always grasp and follow the gist, but eventually, it settles in my heart.
Thanks

I do agree it is making mistakes and learning from them that we do attain wisdom. I think that's probably why young people don't always listen to us "old folks" when we try to tell them not to do something; they have to figure it out for themselves so they too can get that wisdom when they make a mistake and hopefully learn from it.
