Courtesy, kindness, sincerity, truthfulness, thoughtfulness and good manners translated into behavior that reflect one’s true character.
Harry F. Banks
On being courteous…everyone needs care. Handle each other gently.
Life be not so short but that there is always time for courtesy.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Courtesy means being polite and treating others with equal respect as you would treat yourself.
Truth is that it takes no more time to be courteous than it does to be rude. Yet it can bring much more value into our lives and into the lives of those around you, than being rude every could.
Opportunities to be courteous are always before us. The opportunity to do right things or help someone presents itself all the time. How we respond is up to us.
Whoever one is, and wherever one is, one is always in the wrong if one is rude.
Courtesy is not just a matter of saying please and thank you, or saying excuse me when I bump into anther person. It’s not only about politeness, but respect and consideration for others. Respect is a value that many consider to be important but it seems as if there is a total lack of respect in our world these days.
Even if you don’t particularly like someone, there is a way to show common courtesy. It’s our choice. We never know what someone else might be going though and a little thoughtfulness will go a long way.
Do your best to live in peace with everyone
