Chapter 5, Page 13, Book 18

A Mother’s Love

by Helen Steiner Rice

A Mother’s love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away…
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking.
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems…
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation…
A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God’s tender guiding hand.

The best gift you can give to others is your time.

The greatest gift is a portion of thyself.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Happy Mothers Day to all !  I’m happy and joyfully  blessed to be a mom of a large family and I am very thankful to be called ‘ma’ by many.

The best thing to spend on your children is your time.

Louise Hart

I have always thought that best thing you could give your children is your time.  Time to care, time to play, time to pray.

Having a happy family starts with giving the gift of time to each other. Because when you give them your time you are giving a portion of your life that you never get back.

The best way to spell love is T I M E

How true! I've not an insignificant amount of guilt for wasted opportunities when my son was growing up ... but I'm doing my best to make up for it now. Happy Mother's Day!

I liked that A Mother's Love from Helen Steiner Rice. Hardest "job" in the world some days to be a mom especially when they are young and it seems like you don't get a moment to yourself, but the most rewarding thing I've ever done. I so agree one of the best things we can give our kids is the gift of time; its something we can't go back and give them once it is gone so we must use it wisely. Happy Mother's Day!
