Chapter 3, Page 6, Book 18

Live a balanced life - learn some and think some, draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.

Robert Fulghum

I always like to think that I’m so busy I never have time to get bored.  It’s true when you live a balanced life there is always something to do. Maintaining balance isn’t easy, but it is well worth the effort.

It’s important that we balance our lives the best way possible.  I like to do so many different things that I’d say my life is definitely in balance.  They say that variety is the spice of life and I’d have to agree.

Life is a balancing act.

One article I read compared it to  a tightrope walker in a circus.  He is on a rope suspended above the straw covered floor.  His purpose is to walk the rope from one end to the other.  He holds a long bar in his hands to help him maintain his balance.  But he must do more that simply walk.  On his shoulders he balances a chair and in that chair sits a woman that is balancing a rod on her forehead.

If at any time one of the items should start to drift off balance, he must stop until he can get all of them in alignment again.  The tightrope artist doesn’t begin until all the elements are aligned.  Only then does he move forward across the rope.

Just as your car runs more smoothly and requires less energy to go faster and farther when the wheels are in perfect alignment, you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals and values are in balance.

Brian Tracy

Life is very much like a balancing act, and we are always just a step away from a fall.  We constantly try to move forward with purpose to achieve our goals and all the while keep balance in the various elements of our lives.

Live life in harmony.  Balance the elements of life around you to live in peace.  Let your worries go.  Do not stress over things you cannot control. Live and be.

I really do love that first quote in the photo - to stay balanced in life you do have to keep moving! sandie

Probably on account my late uncle was close to the Wallenda family, I've always been fascinated with tightrope artists. What a great parallel to maintaining balance in our own lives!
