Chapter 3, Page 2, Book 18

Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes which all men have some.

Charles Dickens

This morning when I got up I could hear the furnace running, I could feel the warmth surrounding me,  and I could smell the coffee brewing.

I’ve so much to be thankful for and often forget that I’m blessed to be able to hear, to feel, and to smell.  The simple things we take for granted are often the big things that make life so sweet.

We often take for granted the very things that most  deserve our gratitude

Cynthia Ozick

Lots of little things add up to the big things.  Remember to be thankful for the little things in life .  They make life worth it, and it is truly amazing.

For today and a its blessings, I owe the world an attitude of gratitude

Pam, I try to count my blessings each and every day. You are one.

Chatty is right, you are one of our blessings too. I remember when my eye sight started failing, then my hearing. The eyes were fixed soon, amazing. Then my hearing left it is repaired 'somewhat', but I look back and I definitely was not as thankful as I could have been. it is too bad some of us are not as thankful as we should be until something is missing. You are right we have so many blessing and I try harder to be thankful always.
I am VERY thankful to God and for medical technology for my Cochlear implants.
Good one...

It's a shame that we too often only appreciate something after we no longer have it. You're right. Gratitude is an attitude, and it's one I try to cultivate every day.

Gratitude feels sooooo good! Such a shame, too often I'm in a rush to perform the inconsequential and fail to observe that which counts. Only 5 more days!

i like the idea of having an attitude of gratitude. "The simple things we take for granted are often the big things that make life so sweet."

You are soooo right!! Gratitude IS, or should be, an attitude! I take the little things for granted, and become so lax in saying thank you. I really need to be more grateful for EVERYTHING that gives me breath!! Sometimes we rush to reach the destination, and we miss the joys IN the journey!
Love to you.
