Spring cleaning for the Soul.
I Threw Out…
Last week I threw out Worrying
It was getting old and in the way
It kept me from being me;
I couldn’t do things my way.
I threw out those inhibitions
They were just crowding me out.
Made room for my New Groth.
Got rid of old dreams and doubts
I threw out childhood toys
Remember how I treasured them so?
Got me a new Philosophy too.
Threw out the one from long ago.
Brought in some new books too,
Called: I Can, I Will, and I must.
Threw out - I might, I think and I ought.
Wow! You should have seen the dust.
I picked up this special thing
And placed at the from door.
I found it — its call Peace
Nothing gets me down anymore
Yes, I’ve got my house looking nice.
Looks good around the place
For things like Worry and Trouble
There just isn’t any place.
Its good to do a little house cleaning
Got rid of the old things on the shelf.
It sure makes things seem brighter.
Maybe you should try it for yourself.
As the days get longer, although it is still cold outside, we all start to feel the pull to spring clean. Spring is the time we often clean out closets of unwanted things and dust out the corners of our space. It’s also the time I think about the cobwebs floating about in my mind and this dust bunnies in my heart.
Spring cleaning the house is easy. Spring cleaning life is tough.
I know there are negative thoughts that need to go and old feelings that cloud my windows and distort my vision. Time to clear my heart of dusty grudges and outmoded resentments.
Forgive and set yourself free. When we forgive, we heal our own anger and hurt and are able to let love lead again. It’s like spring cleaning for our heart.
It’s time to shake off winter and spring clean body, mind and soul.
It’s time for a spring cleaning of your thoughts, it’s time to stop to just existing, it’s time to start living.
