Chapter 1, Page 4, Book 18

This Year

Hang on to your truth
and respect the truth of others.

Choose to be happy

Forgive those that you can forgive
and seek the forgiveness of
someone who deserves it

Do something outside
of your comfort zone

Be the voice for someone
who has no voice

Be the type of kindness
that is strength

Remember that love is a verb.

Choose healthy foods,
 activities and people

Fall six times
get up again seven,

Wish people a lovely day

Live honestly, truly
and with integrity

See every ending as a new beginning

Life is too short to let someone make you miserable. Remember, someone can only make you unhappy if you give them the power to do so.

Never let someone steal away your happiness either.  It seems like there are days it’s a hard thing to hang on to.  When you are around someone who is never content, you begin to think negatively. When you have someone constantly all up in your face telling you that the world is an awful place, you start to believe that it is so. Happiness thieves are everywhere

Never let a bad day make you feel like you have a bad life.

I’ve come to realize that happiness truly is an inside job. It’s just like a cup of water, you have to keep refilling it if you want to keep drinking from that glass.

Remember that one day does make a bad life.

Finding happiness can be done in so many ways, and what brings you happiness may not bring happiness for another.  Thankfully, we are each unique individuals and all have our likes and dislikes.  A good cup of coffee can bring me joy just as coffee to another is terrible and it’s the last thing they’d want.

Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design into the present.

Today is unique and you may never get another one. Enjoy it while it lasts. Happiness has to be seized as well. Happiness doesn't happen to you, it happens because of you. Other people can't make you happy. You have to find and seize your own happiness.

You can never change the past nor control the future, but you can change the mood of the day by touching someone’s heart with your smile.

You wrote a truth that many folk cannot understand, but it is still the truth:

Finding happiness can be done in so many ways, and what brings you happiness may not bring happiness for another.

I liken it to someone (my girl) who cannot imagine me preferring ButterPecan Ice cream to Chocolate. Then like wise I cannot imagine someone picking chocolate over Butterpecan.

For us to be happy and help others enjoy 'HAPPY,' we must understand what you wrote..

It is true - I think to be happy - we have to let others be themselves and then be our own self - acceptance of others!

More words of wisdom and I agree that we can choose to be happy even if others choose not to be, but it is difficult sometimes.

"What brings you happiness may not bring happiness for another." That's so true!
A few months ago my boss decided she'd buy YETI cups for every associate to use at work. I'm not crazy about mine (has a 'tinny' aftertaste), but kept my mouth shut and said, "Thanks." You'd be surprised how many grumbled they'd rather have had the $39!

I'll join you in that cup of coffee, and Jack can have all the butter pecan he wants. LOL.

life is a never ending journey. "Other people can't make you happy. You have to find and seize your own happiness. "
