Chapter 1, Page 20, Book 18

New Year Day # 20

One day at a time - this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.

Ida Scott

By focusing on life one day at a time, you’re free to enjoy what is right in front of you. You’re free to be happy. Life won’t pass you by when you’re consciously choosing to center our attention on the present moment.

We often get so caught up in the future and consumed by the past that we can’t even see what’s right in front of us. Focus on the present moment and be happy for it, because this moment is your life.

When people go through something rough in life, they say, 'I'm taking it one day at a time.' Yes, so is everybody. Because that's how time works.

Hannibal Buress

Truly living and loving this moment means letting go of all the expectations of what it should or could be. Do your best to focus on your present blessings and be thankful for it all.

Remember the richest person isn’t the one who has the most but the one who needs less.  Happiness is letting go and appreciating everything that is in your life now.

When we let go of the life we expected to have, we can accept the life that’s waiting for us. We can approach each of life’s moments with wonder and we can only do this one day at a time.

Just for today…
I’ll try to see the sunny side of any situation…
I’ll be an optimist

Just for today…
I’ll try to be a bright moment in someone’s life, with a word of kindness or a favor.

Just for today…
I’ll really appreciate all the good things and not dwell on the bad.
Just for today…

As always good thoughts and advice. Humans are too prone to plan to live tomorrow and just endure today. It always hurts me to see a person in their 70's of life, planning to really live tomorrow.
Love from Florida where it is beginning to look a lot like Florida! LOL

Seems I've felt responsible for so long ... tethered to both a life jacket and a parachute. What, then, am I waiting for?

Great advise. This moment is all we have, so we should always try to make the most of it. Deferring the things we want to do... putting off the things we want to say... waiting until later to do that kindness or lighten someone's load... are foolish and often, tragic choices. "Carpe diem."

living one day at a time should be my new years resolution. "Truly living and loving this moment means letting go of all the expectations of what it should or could be. "

The past is like water that's passed through your fingers.
Good thoughts here Ma.
