Chapter 1, Page 12, Book 18

New Year Day #12

Good Morning Lord!  It’s time to start another day…

Your day is like everyone else’s. God has given you 24 hours, or 1,440 minutes, or exactly 86,400 seconds each day.  Time management experts tell you to make every second count. Whether you do or you don’t, one thing is clear: life can be long or short; it largely depends on how you determine to live it.

Time is long but life is short.

Stevie Wonder

For some, time is a thing taken for granted; for others, it may be that a physician has said there are but a few months to live. Your perspective on time dictates how you use it.The mind is like a muscle, and just like every muscle in the human body, it needs to be exercised to gain strength.  It needs to be trained daily to grow and develop gradually over time.

Whether life is long or short depends on our outlook.

Life can be long or short depending on what you're focusing on. If you're going through a sad moment, it can seem like time is slowing down. If you're having a blast, it can seem like time is flying by. Regardless of your perception, once the time passes and you reflect back on it, it almost always seems as if time flew by.

The place to be happy is here. The time to be happy is now.
Robert G. Ingersoll

This entry corresponds with our life at this moment. Sherry is just reading obits from her class and home town, OUR AGE. .... At one time I would have said, "WOW 79 and 80! They lived a very long life." But now, I look at life completely different. As you are written life can be considered short or long, just how you look at it.

I like that quote about life and time being the best teachers. (Had to read it a second time to let it resonate a bit better.)

Yes, it's all relative. We all have 24 hours in a day, but while some accomplish many things in the course of a day, others fritter it away doing nothing. We all did it as children. Surely, you spent a few lazy summer days with your friends when you kept asking each other, "What do you want to do?" to which the answer would be, "I dunno. What do you want to do...?" Now, we're more mindful of the passage of time, and hopefully better stewards of it.

time is relative. "Regardless of your perception, once the time passes and you reflect back on it, it almost always seems as if time flew by."
