Chapter 9, Page 8, Book 17

Most know the earth is utterly enchanted.

Cornelius Lyons

living beneath the shadow of God’s wings.

Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.

Elizabeth Lawrence

I read something that one of my favorite authors recently said, that so reflected my thoughts that I had to share it with you all today.

She wrote:  Lately, the news has gotten unbearably nuclear, with homeless and stranded people living in fear, wandering this earth of such riches, so unfairly distributed, and sometimes I really can not stand it, being a child of God and all.  So, I do what I can.  Turning to the things that humanity was born to adore. I take a deep breath and let happiness and believing in good flow back in to my soul.

Just living is not enough.  One must have sunshine and a little flower.

Hans Christian Anderson

One cannot live on a steady diet of bad news and even though those in harms way are in my prayers, there are times we just need to turn off the news and turn our thoughts to those things that are beautiful, the things that make our hearts sing.

Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.

 Anne Frank

I know that even though all these terrible things are happing, there is really no need to worry,  We need to turn the burdens over to the One in control instead.  He can do so much more than I ever could.   We are all under the shadow of God’s wings.

I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.

George Washington Carver

We've started another "crisis" in the family and I was reflecting on last year's "crisis" and how much it affected me with anxiety, etc. I wrote in my prayer journal this morning statements of affirmation that I will find joy, I will not be anxious, etc. Remembering to focus on the beauty of life rather than my problems is a great reminder for me in the days ahead.

What a powerful quote ... "unbearably nuclear", yes. Thank you for sharing her words!

Given her circumstances, if Anne Frank could promote happiness, what the heck do I have to complain about.
