Chapter 9, Page 24, Book 17

The great secret that all old people share is that you really haven't changed in seventy or eighty years. Your body changes, but you don't change at all. And that, of course, causes great confusion.

Doris Lessing

What kind of old age are you planning?

Things turn out best for the people who make the best
of the way things turn out.

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that our future will be bright and cheerful. There are people that tend shut themselves away from the world, as they get older. Too often, these dear folks fade into an aimless, sad and lonely existence. There are also others who age into self assured, active, and happy people, with purpose and energy.

It's important to have a twinkle in your wrinkle.

For me aging is an attitude.  It’s a matter of mind over matter.   If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.  We’re to enjoy all the years of our lives.  No matter what age we are life goes on and the attitude we take is what makes the difference.

You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair.

Douglas MacArthur

So true to keep on living fully, no matter what age we are.

Ok the first quote by Lansing is spot on. And then I smiled BIG when I read, "What type of Old age do you plan?"

It is amazing isn't it? We age, but unless dementia streals our mind, it stays the same.

Great points and post. I like it.

Of course that is STEALS our mind.

a twinkle in your wrinkle made me chuckle. "Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out."
