Chapter 9, Page 12, Book 17

If you break your neck, if you have nothing to eat, if your house is on fire—then you got a problem. Everything else is inconvenience. Life is inconvenient. Life is lumpy. Learn to separate the inconveniences from the real problems. You will live longer.

 Robert Fulghum, Uh-Oh

troubling times

There's a dark and a troubled side of life
There's a bright, there's a sunny side, too
Tho' we meet with the darkness and strife
The sunny side we also may view.

A classic Country Song

The sad truth is that there have always been troubling times.  Our troubles are not the troubles of others.  Our times are not like others, but there have always been troubling times.

Problems are a part of life and it’s how we handle them that makes all the difference.  I always, always chose the sunny side.

The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem.

Theodore Rubin

I believe that hope is the most useful perspective that we human beings can take in this fragile world of ours. Hope involves creating a space inside our hearts and minds in which we wait expectantly for the good to come. Hope relies on faith, for faith begins with belief in goodness itself, that there is a loving someone or something out there that we can depend on.

The Survivor’s Creed

By Max Lucado

You’ll get through this.
It won’t be painless.
It won’t be quick.
But God will use this mess for good.
Don’t be foolish or naïve.
But don’t despair either.
With God’s help, you’ll get through this.

Hope can be a light in the darkness of the chaos in your situation. Hope is the lifeline that can keep you from being overwhelmed by the storms in your life.   Hope makes all things brighter.

I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!

I like that prayer from Max Lucado. I am going to copy it down. So true God is always with us and will help us get through the tough times.

You 'done good'. Like the ending graphic, ....try it once more.... and Dr. Seuss to sum it up. I like that.

I am going to make copies of some of these too - I was one that needed to calm down - I must admit I was a bit worried - everywhere it seems in GA got some damage except our little sector. Thanks for reminding me to be calm!

I like this quote the best. "Learn to separate the inconveniences from the real problems. You will live longer. "

... aren't these last 7-10 days proof of what Really Counts?
