Chapter 8, Page 14, Book 17

It’s your outlook on life that counts.
If you take yourself lightly
and don’t take yourself too seriously,
pretty soon you can find the humor
in our everyday lives.
And sometimes it can be a lifesaver.

Betty White

A renewed outlook

You need to be able to manage stress because hard times will come, and a positive outlook is what gets you through.

Marie Osmond

They say that if you change your thinking, you change your life and that is what renewing our outlook on life is all about. Thoughts and attitudes are like the engine of a train and our emotions and behavior are like the caboose.

Changing the way you think is like a locomotive that switches tracks and heads in a new direction, taking the rest of the train, our behavior, actions and habits, right along with it.  Our thought life is so important for a healthy outlook.

Life is change. We shouldn't resist it. Remaining stagnant is in opposition to the natural order of life. Flow with change. Embrace it and regard it as an adventure.

A positive attitude will give you a positive life.

A negative attitude will give you a negative life.

It seems so simple yet, we make it so hard. Change how you react to situations and you will change your life.

Your outlook upon life, your estimate of yourself, your estimate of your value are largely colored by your environment. Your whole career will be modified, shaped, molded by your surroundings, by the character of the people with whom you come in contact every day.

Orison Swett Marden

I am constantly working on changing my way of thinking about things. Sometimes I succeed for a bit, but I seem to always go back to my negative thinking. I need to continue to work on that,.

Boy oh boy oh boy do I wish EVERYONE could read and follow this! I love when things are positive - wish the world would get on the band wagon - in fact every one should!

Great analogy about the train.
I wholeheartedly agree with Marden's quote ... but I'm really trying not use that as an excuse.

Like the train analogy too. "Remaining stagnant is in opposition to the natural order of life."
