Chapter 8, Page 1, Book 17

Remember to be gentle with yourself and others. We are all children of chance and none can say why some fields will blossom while others lay brown beneath the August sun.

Kent Nerburn

Just for today I will be good to myself.

Remember:  All the goodness you put out into the world starts with how you treat yourself.

August is the month known for it’s high temps and sultry days.  It’s a time when it pays to be gentle with yourself and with others.  We all need some tender loving care when life gets harsh.

Love yourself, accept yourself, forgive yourself, and be good to yourself, because without you the rest of us are without a source of many wonderful things.

Dr. Leo Buscaglia

Ultimately, how far you go in life depends on your willingness to be helpful to the young, respectful to the aged, tender with the hurt, supportive of the striving, and tolerant of those who are weaker or stronger than the majority.  Because we wear many hats throughout the course of our lives, and at some point in your life you will have been all of these people.

No man or woman can be strong, gentle, pure, and good, without the world being better for it and without someone being helped and comforted by the very existence of that goodness.

Phillips Brooks

So true of the various hats we wear throughout our lives. How we want to be treated should be reflected in how we treat others.

You have so many wise quotes - I am very hard on myself - I have to admit. Sandie

Amen to Chatty's comment. Also I enjoyed the peaceful life photos. The farm lands are beautiful!

I never thought about all the hats we've worn. (I'd snatch 'em back in a trice if I could have just two - or three - "do-overs.")

we should treat others with the respect they deserve and we should be treated the same. "We all need some tender loving care when life gets harsh."
