Chapter 5, Page 8, Book 16

Mother’s Day Blessings

Today we celebrate Mothers…..
To those who gave birth this year to their first child—we celebrate with you
To those who lost a child this year – we mourn with you
To those who are in the trenches with little ones every day and wear the badge of food stains – we appreciate you
To those who experienced loss through miscarriage, failed adoptions, or running away—we mourn with you
To those who walk the hard path of infertility, fraught with pokes, prods, tears, and disappointment – we walk with you.
To those who are foster moms, mentor moms, and spiritual moms – we need you
To those who have warm and close relationships with your children – we celebrate with you
To those who have disappointment, heart ache, and distance with your children – we sit with you
To those who lost their mothers this year – we grieve with you
To those who experienced abuse at the hands of your own mother – we acknowledge your experience
To those who lived through driving tests, medical tests, and the overall testing of motherhood – we are better for having you in our midst
To those who are single and long to be married and mothering your own children – we mourn that life has not turned out the way you longed for it to be
To those who step parent – we walk with you on these complex paths
To those who envisioned lavishing love on grandchildren -yet that dream is not to be, we grieve with you
To those who will have emptier nests in the upcoming year – we grieve and rejoice with you
To those who placed children up for adoption - we commend you for your selflessness and remember how you hold that child in your heart
And to those who are pregnant with new life, both expected and surprising –we anticipate with you

This Mother’s Day, we walk with you. Mothering is not for the faint of heart. We remember you.

May 8th - Happy Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.  Where would we be without our Mothers.  No Where !

On Mothers Day, we pay tribute to the woman who gave us life. For most of us, our mother holds a special place in our hearts for the unconditional love she has given, and the willing sacrifices she has made, in order to better our lives.

Mother’s Day is also a unique opportunity to celebrate all women. Oprah Winfrey says: Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother. This is a reminder that women enrich the lives of those they touch. Each of us has special talents and gifts that we can share, and, with love and support, we truly can make a difference in each other’s lives. Mother's Day offers everyone a chance to celebrate mothers. Whether one is a mother or not is irrelevant.

May God bless your hands as you fold clothes and prepare meals.
May God bless your feet as you chase after your little ones.
May God bless your arms as you wrap your growing sweethearts in tight hugs.
May God bless your laps as you snuggle and read books on the couch.
May God bless your fingers as you put pigtails in hair and brush away tears.
May God bless your words as you encourage and teach.
May God bless your voice as you whisper I love you’s.
May God bless your mind as you help with homework and juggle activity schedules.
May God bless your heart as it aches as they get older and swells with love as they grow up.
May God bless your prayers as you hope for the wonders of their future and love them beyond measure.

Yes, my children are all grown up with children of their own, but none the less I am still a mother and always will be.  Mother's Day reminds every mother of the special joy God gives to her through her children.  My children are all a blessing to me!

Happy Mother’s Day to all !
