Chapter 5, Page 19, Book 16

To love abundantly is to live abundantly, and to love forever is to live forever.

Henry Drummond

May 19th - love lives forever

Most of the things we devote our time and energy to are things that will pass away, things that will not last. We strive to make money, build businesses, achieve great accomplishments, be popular, own buildings, cars, and jewelry. We want to expand our minds and see the world, yet all of these things are temporary. They will all come to an end.

Even as we deeply love family members and close friends, there are times when their actions and words may not be loveable and we are challenged to react in a loving way.  For the most part, we do remember how much we love them and can get beyond the issues at that time.  The greater challenge, for me at least, is to always show that love to others, to strangers, to those who do not want to be friends or even friendly.

Only love never comes to an end. An act of love goes on and endures forever.

So true with the challenge to love the "unlovable", those that may not be in our circle of friends or those who don't want anything to do with us. Also so true how much time we spend pursuing things that will fade away in time or break down. I think we need to be constantly thinking about our priorities and making sure we have them in the right order.

this really touched me. love is forever. But we often take it for granted. "We want to expand our minds and see the world, yet all of these things are temporary."
