Chapter 12, Page 3, Book 15

Love is like swallowing hot chocolate before it has cooled off. It takes you by surprise at first, but keeps you warm for a long time.

December 3rd - chocolate love

All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!
Lucy Van Pelt in Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz

One of the wonderful things I enjoy when the weather turns colder is a steaming cup of hot chocolate.  It warms you up on the inside and everyone knows that chocolate always makes things better.

Life is like hot chocolate; your job, money and position in society are the cups.  They are just tools to hold and contain life.  The cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life you have.  Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate the good Lord has provided us.  He makes the hot chocolate, man chooses the cups. The happiest people don't have the best of everything.  They just make the best of everything that they have.

Maybe it's true that we don't know what we have until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we're missing until we find it

Live simply.  Love generously.  Care deeply. Speak kindly. And enjoy your hot chocolate.

As with most fine things, chocolate has its season. There is a simple memory aid that you can use to determine whether it is the correct time to order chocolate dishes: any month whose name contains the letter A, E, or U is the proper time for chocolate.

 Sandra Boynton

Funny thing while typing this up, I was sipping on a cup of coffee and when I took the next sip I was surprised that it didn’t taste like Chocolate !  Ha !

Too cute thinking of hot chocolate while sipping coffee :) I have a funny story about the taste of things. We have a Keurig machine that we use for coffee of course, but sometimes just for the hot water for instant apple cider, etc. One night I was making a cup of instant apple cider, got the hot water from the Keurig; everything worked fine; started drinking the cider and thinking "this tastes different" but drank the whole thing. Realized the next day that I had forgotten to take the K-cup out of the machine so the water ran through the K-cup into my cup for apple cider; that's why it tasted different :) Lesson learned.

So true to enjoy what is in the cup; often the choicest of blessings from God if we just learn to look for them!

Ahhhh, you have a way of dredging up memories. My most pleasant memories of my childhood is mama taking the time to have a cup of hot cocoa with my sister and I. YEP that was love in action.

If there's anything on this earth better than hot chocolate on a cold day, I need to be introduced to it:)
