Chapter 12, Page 26, Book 15

From home to home, and heart to heart,
 from one place to another
The warmth and joy of Christmas,
brings us closer to each other.

Emily Matthews

December 26th - Christmas doesn’t end yet

Work of Christmas Begins
Howard Thurman, adapted
When the song of the angels is stilled,
when the star in the sky is gone,
when the kings and princes are home,
when the shepherds are back with the flocks,
then the work of Christmas begins:
     to find the lost,
to heal those broken in spirit,
     to feed the hungry,
     to release the oppressed,
     to rebuild the nations,
to bring peace among all peoples,
to make a little music with the heart…

And to radiate the Light of Christ,
every day, in every way,
in all that we do and in all that we say.
Then the work of Christmas begins.
Embracing God’s love for us is the key to loving others.

I do like to think of Christmas as a beginning of better things to come. All the love and compassion we felt Christmas Day should be just a beginning of what we do throughout the year.

Love alone could waken love

I can remember as a kid, for a few days after Christmas things were down. The anticipation of the great day over, no mystery presents to anticipate and question 'what can it be?' But now you (and age I guess) puts a new spin on life. It is all good, and every day a new beginning.

Its almost like Christmas should be the first day of the new year and no January 1st so we can keep that good feeling and love of each other as a new start after Christmas day.

What a wonderful task! So often I've heard people say they feel empty, incomplete after all the holidays' excitement. (No I'm not immune.) Ah, if everyone did just a little bit more!

Christmas was a gift. Even with the iffy weather, we had a really good time with our friends and family.
