Chapter 11, Page 1, Book 15

Change is a measure of time and, in the autumn, time seems speeded up.  What was is not and never again will be; what is is change.

November 1 - love changes things

Autumn to winter, winter to spring,
Spring into summer, summer into fall--
So rolls the changing year, and so we change
Motion so swift, we know not that we move.

Dinah Mulock Craik

Change is necessary to live a life with few regrets.
You only live once. And, it doesn’t hurt to think of this, from time to time. The worst thing would be to look back on your life, wishing you could have been happier or done more.

Love beats lectures every time.

We all know time flies. Days, weeks, months, and years slip away. Don't let them pass you by. Make the necessary changes that bring happy, joyful memories, so you can look back with no regrets.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more.... It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.

Melody Beattie

Traditionally November is the time of year when people in many parts of the world reflect on their blessings: a bountiful harvest, a productive year, family, friends, one’s country and freedom, and whatever else is held dear. But if you’re not really feeling grateful right now, maybe the harvest wasn’t so bountiful, or friends and family are few and far between, or concerns are more abundant than blessings, you might find it hard to be really thankful.

If the only prayer you ever say is thank you, it will be enough.

Meister Eckhart

When we give love, we get love in return and it’s the same way with blessings, the best way to receive a blessing is to give it.  So I’m mindful to count my blessings everyday and give thanks for them.  With the simple prayer mentioned above, we invite goodness into our lives.  Even though it’s not yet Thanksgiving, the benefits of giving daily thanks and praise are great.

One thing I know for sure is that the only one way to receive a gift is humbly and with gratitude.  We should never forget to say Thank You!

Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer.

In my life I have been resistant to change, especially in buzz words (except 'cool'....LOL), I resist for awhile, but then I find myself using it.

That's so true about blessings coming back around to those who (remember) to extend them.

Oh, and speaking of those two precious words ... it's been years, but last night I think every single one of our 'tricksters' said "Thank you." Does a heart good!

I like that quote about if the only prayer you say is thank you; it will be enough. So true to always live a life of gratitude and to be thankful for all we have been given.

There's so many blessings to be thankful for year round. November is a great time to really ponder those blessings and savor every moment. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday for that very reason!!

Jilda and I do a gratitude ceremony about once a month. We put money on the table, stand in front of a burning candle and recite a gratitude poem.
We donate the money to charity. There is a place nearby that helps people who've lost their home in a fire or for some reason found themselves in diar straights.
We put the money in the pockets of coats or jeans that we donate. It's a way of expressing gratitude and sharing a small part of the gift of abundance that we enjoy.
