Chapter 6, Page 7, Book 15

Enjoy life. This is not a dress rehearsal

June 7th - love makes us joy filled people

Don't move the way fear makes you move.
Move the way love makes you move.
Move the way joy makes you move.

Osho, 1931-1990

It's not always easy to be joyful, and for many people joy doesn't even seem like an option when times are tough.  But there is a distinct difference between happiness and joy.

Happiness is an attitude of satisfaction or delight when the circumstances are favorable.  When the circumstances dictate it, I am happy.

Joy, however, is deeper.  Joy is not dependent on one’s circumstances. Joy is a state of satisfaction or delight regardless of the circumstances.  It is the willingness to state all is well, in spite of how I feel at any given moment.

One of the greatest ways to find joy is through forgiveness.  We both give and receive the gift of forgiveness when we release a painful situation to God. This does not mean we condone what happened, only that we simply choose to let it go.

We can let our past hold us back or we can move on.  When we choose to be free from resentment, anger, and hurt and release the pain of the past, we can claim the life of peace we deserve. Our load lightens,  pain heals, and our heart opens. Forgiveness frees us to laugh, love, and embrace a life of joy.

The walls we build around us to keep sadness out also keeps out the joy.

Jim Rohn

I love all the quotes about life in that first poem. It completely touched my heart today. Especially this one, "Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. "

Life is definitely a lot of things. The one thing that is hard to get thru one's head is: this is IT! The only life we will get and we travel this way only once. It is nice if one can truly say "I have enjoyed the journey." What not to say :"Is that all there is?"
Good entry.

Wonderful sentiment to bear in mind as I'm approaching a difficult work week. Thank you!

So true that we need to let go of things; we do have the choice to keep them or release them. Release them will definitely bring us more joy.
