Chapter 10, Page 6, Book 13

This Day

This day's going to be a good one.
I'm alive and well.

This day's going to be a fine one.
I'll sit and rest a spell.

This day's going to be a great one.
I don't have to go to work.

This day's going to be a swell one.
I got some coffee to perk.

This day's going to be a fun one.
My bills are paid on time.

This day's going to be the best one.
I got some words to rhyme.

This day's going to be a happy one.
I got my attitude in check.

This day's going to be a praising one.
I'll give that old devil a run for his money.

This day's going to be a dancing one.
My feet feel fancy free.

This day's going to be a one of a kind.
'Cause it's my day and there's only one me.

It's a great day to be alive…

It is truly a great day here in northern Ohio this morning.  We have had such beautiful summer like days here this week. It's Autumn, but you'd hardly know it at all.  Of course the leaves are changing and we have quite a few on the ground, but it feels like summer.  We won't get many more, if any, days like this.  October can go one way or another and I've lived long enough to know you can't predict it.  More often than not our days this time of year are chilly and grey with only the leaves to brighten things up.  Not this October though.  At least the beginning of it has been just wonderful.

Along with the brilliant leaves, we have beautiful blue skies and sunshine too!

Another Day

Another day is dawning
Another day's begun
Another day to turn to God
And pray, Thy will be done

A day to slay doubt's dragon,
To know within your soul
That as you give yourself to Him
He'll bless and make you whole.

A day to live with purpose
A day to show you care
When others turn to you distraught
Confused or in despair

A day to share God's blessings
In quiet countless ways
That touch the heart with hope and joy
And brighten cloudy days

A day for sweet rejoicing
For gratitude and praise
Because His love enfolds you
Both now, and all your days.

Glad to hear you've had some pleasant fall weather this week, Ma. Was on another blog this morning where they had pictures of their first snow fall (I think Nebraska area).

Great poems about being alive and thankful; good day to post them too on a Sunday day of rest.

I wonder even though the days are still nice - how do the plants and trees know it's time to lose their leaves.

It's been a rainy day here. ENJOY your blue skies and nice temps for as long as they last.

Every day I am alive is a good one. Love both anonymous poems. You find some good ones to accompany your wit and enthusiasm.
Have a great week.
