Chapter 8, Page 20, Book 13

Just over the Ohio State Line not too far into north eastern Indiana is the Amish town of Shipshewana.   It is full of shops, mainly run by the Amish.  They are well renown for their crafts and their good food.  Most of the shops are open from 9 till 5 and the town virtually closes up after 5:00.

The highway through town and those surrounding have four lanes on them.  Two lanes for car and truck traffic and 2 lanes for horses and buggies and bicycles.   The Amish do ride bikes a lot in that part of the country.

Gift shops abound as well as do restaurants.

But the thing we really enjoyed there was the Flea Market.  It had hundreds of vendors with any thing and everything. I had no trouble at all in finding some treasures there.

I found toys for the grandchildren to play with when they come to visit

and this great sign for my back door

and some wonderful Amish baked goods too!

It was well worth the trip!

I LOVE Shipshewana. Went there on a car trip last summer. Really enjoyed everything about it.

Ahhh, yes, Shipsshewana, I cannot believe you hit a town we have visited. Beautiful place, also the home of a well know RV supplier.

The bread and pecan rolls look yummy!

Great photos. I'm sure you found some cool stuff at the flea market.
