Chapter 2, Page 28, Book 13

For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.

Matthew 6:21

What ever we claim as treasure in our life is where we put the bulk of our time and energy.  We let go of some things in order to have the time and energy to spend on what is important to us.  The choices we make each day are based upon what we treasure.

The treasure doesn't follow our heart; but rather, our heart follows our treasure, whether it be a career, a family, or a large accumulation of wealth in the bank.

The things we treasure most over the years are often the small simple things.  What matters most is often the attitude of our heart.  The little things we do for others and that they do for us.  The kindness and cheerfulness shared day after day.

To me, there is nothing sadder than a person, or a married couple, or some group of people, who think that a pile of money in the bank is a great accomplishment in life.

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Matthew 6:20

Boy, is today's words ever true! I know people that put more "stock" in money than anything else. It is funny how so many folks don't see what true wealth really is - it is the "who and what we are" not how much money we have. It is how we treat others and how we treat ourselves and were and what we place our values on. thank you for a very good post. Blessings

The treasure doesn't follow our heart; but rather, our heart follows our treasure...end quote

So true, we have been wealthy all our lives, whether living off $78 a month or the fat of the land. Our faith, health and love make us rich beyond our wildest dreams...
A little cool here in Oralndo with Mickey Mouse, but the sun is out...

those are some of my favorite scriptures you quoted here, Ma. I definitely want my treasures to be more eternal than temporary. Sadly, I've known people who thought the pile of money is the bank was a great accomplishment in their life and it is sad.

Like this quote. Simple treasures are the best.
