Chapter 11, Page 17, Book 11

Would you sell both your eyes for a million dollars... or your two legs... or your hands... or your hearing? Add up what you have, and you'll find that you wouldn't sell it for all the gold in the world.

Dale Carnegie, 1888-1955

THANKFUL THURSDAY / Our treasure is where our heart is.

I've heard it said that a faithful friend is worth more than all the gold in the world.
If I ask you this morning what is your most precious possession - I wonder what you would answer? Your Family? Finances? Physical health? Some treasure that you hold onto?

There is something much more precious than any other possession - your own soul.

In the scriptures it says that your soul is worth more than this whole wide world. All the oceans, all the mountains, all the continents, all the silver, all the gold, all the rubies, all the diamonds, all the stocks, all the bonds, all of the resources put together - all of it ... is not worth one single solitary soul!

On a grave in NantucketMassachusetts:  Under the sod and under the trees,  Lies the body of Jonathan Pease. He is not here, it’s only the pod:  Pease shelled out and went to God.    Humorous but truthful!

Your soul is that part of you that is the source of all your emotions and your will:  It is where your REAL heart is.  Your soul is what dreams, wishes, yearns, desires, wonders  It is what decides, chooses, trusts, and fears.    It is what loves, hates, enjoys, rejects.  Your flesh/body/skin/bones doesn’t do any of that! Your soul does all that!

In the Bible we also read that our faith is more precious than gold.

A life is worth more than all the gold in the world

Family is worth more than gold

In Proverbs we read that a  good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold

Happiness is worth more than gold

Wisdom is worth more than all our money...She is even more valuable than gold

Today I'm thankful for all the things in my life that are more valuable than all the gold in the world.  The dear Lord has given me everything I need and that makes me a millionaire in my heart and soul.

I hope that this Thursday will be a THANKFUL one for you too.

This one is a jewel. It will be forwarded, with prayers to someone who truly needs this.

Thanks for a great read this morning. Good weather here at Johathan Dickinson State park. We are just across the road from the Inland Waterway. in the Southern part of Florida for a week.

Sending love from down here.

Loved the epitaph. Cleverly said. The truth is very few of us value ourselves as much as we should. If we did the world would be a better place. Take care, MA. Have a GOOD day.

I like what is written on Jonathan Pease's gravestone; that is so true indeed! So much wisdom you shared with us here, Ma. Thank you for it!
